Virat Kohli shares "time flies" post celebrating 12 years of international cricket

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday (August 18) took to social media to express his gratitude as the batting master completed 12 years in international cricket.

On this day, in 2008, Kohli was introduced at the global stage after having become a household name with the U-19 World Cup triumph, as the dashing right-hander made his first international appearance for the Indian cricket team against Sri Lanka in an ODI at Dambulla.

The last 12 years have seen Kohli grow from a chole bhature-loving West Delhi teen to a fitness freak who is ruling the cricketing world and become one of the greatest batsmen of the modern era.

His stature grew with each passing game with the world cricket adoring him for his ruthlessness, aggression, ability to chase down scores at any situation while remaining consistent.

To celebrate the occasion, Kohli shared a collage of his multiple pictures while acknowledging everyone and expressed gratitude for completing a memorable 12 years in international cricket.

He wrote on Twitter: “Time flies. Forever grateful.”

Now, Kohli has over the 11,000 runs in the ODIs at an average of 59.33, while scoring 7,240 runs at an average of 53.62 in 86 Test cricket, while he is the leading run-scorer in T20Is with near 2800 runs.

Noteworthy, Kohli will next be seen in action during the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 where he will captain the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the UAE.
