Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf and former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq have been roped in by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as coaches of its High-Performance Center (HPC) in Lahore.
Yousuf has reportedly confirmed that he was offered a coaching position at the HPC and he is delighted with the offer by the PCB and has accepted it.
According to a PCB source, another former Test cricketer Basit Ali has also been offered a coaching role by the board in the HPC, which is being revamped in the past few months, as well as, working on a reassessment of umpires, match referees, scorers, and coaches of professional teams in the domestic cricket to improve its productivity and output.
Recently, former Test cricketer Nadeem Khan has been appointed as the Direction of the High-Performance Center after old faces like Mudassar Nazar, Haroon Rasheed, Agha Zahid, and Ali Zia were released or fired by the PCB.
Meanwhile, the source also revealed that PCB also acquired the services of the former England Cricket's Performance Director David Parsons who was working with Nadeem Khan at Lahore’s HPC.
As per PTI, the board source said: “The PCB has hired the services of former England Cricket's Performance Director David Parsons, who was also a spin bowling coach since 2006 at the ECB academy at Loughborough in the UK.”
He concluded, “The idea is to get more former stalwarts involved in coaching positions not only at the High-Performance Centre but also with the provincial and Under-19 teams so that players can have access to the best coaching and training facilities.”
