Pakistan batsman Fawad Alam returned to the Test squad after a gap of a decade but unfortunately got dismissed on a duck. He could last only four deliveries before getting trapped in front of the stumps by Chris Woakes.
It was the 44th over when Fawad tried to defend a delivery from Woakes but missed it completely. The ball hit him on his pads and when umpire denied Woakes' appeal he asked England captain Joe Root to go upstairs.

The third umpire found the Pakistan batsman out and the return to Test cricket for the 34-year-old wasn't a memorable one. Pakistan was 126-5 at stumps after rain and bad light made it impossible to resume the play on the first day. James Anderson picked up 2-35 from 15 overs.
