Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed carrying shoes and drinks for the players in the first Test against England has not gone well with his fans on social media. A picture of Sarfaraz is surfacing on the internet where he can be seen carrying shoes.

It's completely normal for any player to carry drinks or help out players in the middle after being benched as no cricketer is bigger than the game. But still, along with fans, some sports journalists also questioned the decision of sending Sarfaraz with shoes.

Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq was criticized for it and fans saw it as a disrespect to Sarfaraz. Misbah has responded to the reaction on social media. Misbah said there is no issue with Sarfaraz and even he agreed to carry drinks for the team without hesitation.

“It is very common and I don’t think this was an issue for Sarfaraz either. Even I carried drinks for the team against Australia when I was captain but didn’t play that particular match in which I was the 12th man,” said the Pakistan head coach-cum-chief selector.

“Sarfaraz is an excellent human being and player. He knows that it is a team game. When other players are practicing outside, so the player who is available has to help out. It is not a matter of disrespect. In fact, it is big of Sarfaraz that he doesn’t mind doing it. Plus, it is a sign of a good team,” Misbah added at the end of days play.

Big names like Sir Donald Bradman, Sachin Tendulkar, and even MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have carried drinks for their team.
