India cricketer Ajinkya Rahane will be seen playing for a new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise this year. He was traded by his ex-franchise Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2020 auction last year.

The 13th edition of IPL will be played from September 19 to November 10 in UAE. Like the IPL 2014's first leg, three venues, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah will host the tournament this year.

Rahane is excited to join the Delhi franchise and he shared a post on Instagram regarding the same. "New beginnings for me in the @ipl this year. Looking forward to the season," he wrote.

Rahane has played seven seasons for Rajasthan Royals (2011-2015, 2018-2019) and two seasons for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016 and 2017.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced IPL to move out of India and there are high chances there will be no spectators allowed in the stadium. Even though BCCI decides to allow a few percentages of the crowd, players will miss the home support.
