Ramiz Raja says PM Imran Khan won't have problems with India-Pakistan bilateral series

Pakistan might be 70 to 80% ready to resume bilateral cricket ties with India, says Raja.

Former Pakistan captain-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja is confident that Prime Minister and former national captain Imran Khan “won't have a problem” agreeing to a bilateral cricket series against India.

However, the former cricketer said Imran would certainly have to look at the political situation and the sentiments of people if the need arises if Pakistan is invited with such a series.

The political relations between India and Pakistan are well known to everyone over the Kashmir issue and the numerous military conflicts have taken place since 1948 and in fact, there has been no bilateral cricket series since January 2013 series between the two neighbors.

Well, the former captain believes that Pakistan would be ready to host a series against India, saying his country has a “different viewpoint” regarding an Indian series that the country.

Raja told Sportskeeda: “From a cricketing point of view, I am 100% sure that he (Imran Khan) won't have a problem. Obviously, he'll have to look at the political situation as well, how the common people respond if India is invited or if Pakistan is invited with such a series.”

He signed off, “I just wish that such an event (Indian cricket team tour of Pakistan 2004) can take place again. Pakistan has a different viewpoint regarding an Indian series. So, if that topic comes up for discussion, I think Pakistan would be 70-80% absolutely ready to host a series against India.”
