Chennai Super Kings (CSK) dedicated a video to the friendship of MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. Both have been part of the CSK franchise for 10 seasons. They were separated for two years after the ban of CSK in 2016 and 2017.

Even when Raina was leading Gujarat Lions, he used to ask tips from Dhoni, as admitted by him. It shows the bonding between the two. They finally reunited with the return of Super Kings in 2018.

When Dhoni was giving a speech before the IPL 2018 on the return of CSK, he got emotional. It was Raina who went to him, give him a pat, and passed on the water as if he understands his emotions. 

Raina sees Dhoni more than a friend and he responded to the video shared by Super Kings on Twitter.

Thanking his friend for being with him in hard times, he wrote, "Thank you for creating such beautiful memories of us @ChennaiIPL. @msdhoni bhai is not just a friend, he is been my guiding force, my mentor & always been there in the hardest times. Thank you Mahi bhai. Happy #FriendshipDay ! See you soon!".
