Indian captain, Virat Kohli is easily the most bankable face among Indian cricketers for companies who are looking for greater reach for their products through his humongous popularity with people of all age groups. His looks, style and fitness have made him the fourth most followed sportsperson in the world on Instagram.

In a bizarre incident, a petition has now been filed against Virat Kohli and actress Tamannah Bhatia, for promoting online gambling. As per a Times Now report, the petition has been filed by a Chennai-based advocate, who moved the Madras High Court seeking a ban on 'online gambling' apps saying that such apps are causing addiction among youngsters.

The petitioner said the companies are using celebrities like Virat Kohli and Tamannah Bhatia to brainwash the youngsters, hence both should be arrested. He also mentioned the case of a youngster who died by suicide after he couldn't pay back the money he took for online gambling. The petitioner also highlighted growing number of suicide cases in Tamil Nadu due to the same reason, with youngsters under stress after taking money on loan at high interest rates and then failing to make profits.

The case is set for hearing on Tuesday (August 4). There is no official comment yet from Virat Kohli's end on the matter.

Kohli is set to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 from September 19 in the UAE, and the last thing he would need on his mind right now is a distraction of this kind.
