Stuart Broad jumps to no.3 in ICC Test bowlers rankings with 16 wickets against West Indies

Broad completed 500 Test wickets during the third Test against West Indies.

Stuart Broad | Sky SportsEngland pacer Stuart Broad, who recently became the second Englishman to 500 Test victims, has seen tremendous improvement in his ranking, as he jumped seven places to reach no.3 spot in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings.

He picked 6 wickets in the second Test and 10 scalps in the third match to end up with 16 wickets to his name despite being dropped for the first match against the West Indies. He helped England win the third Test by 269 runs and pocket the Wisden Trophy 2-1.

Broad has also gained seven places with the bat thanks to his 62 off 45 balls in the first innings, the joint-third fastest fifty for England in Test history, and risen three places among all-rounders to 11th.

England pacer Chris Woakes, who picked a fifer in the second innings of the third Test, also saw his ranking improve to 20th position with a career-best rating points tally of 654.

Opener Rory Burns gained 13 spots to reach 17th position after scores of 57 and 90 at Old Trafford, the first time the 29-year-old left-hander has moved into the top 20. Ollie Pope reached career-best 46th position, while Jos Buttler moved to 44th.
