Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja claimed to have the payslip of the Indian cricket team who won the 1983 World Cup. India had defeated the then world champions West Indies to lift the trophy.

The Indian cricketers used to get a mere sum of Rs. 1500 as match fees, coupled with a daily allowance of Rs. 200 per day. Ramiz posted a screenshot of the payslip on his official Twitter account and wrote he would also share the Pakistan cricket team's payslip for the Indian tour in 1986-87.

Recalling his playing days, the cricketer-turned-commentator added that he had got Rupees 55,000 after played five Test matches and six ODIs.

"Had to reproduce this... will try to get a copy of what we got paid for the Indian tour in 86-87. I remember it to this date what I got: played 5 Tests and 6 ODI’s and got paid Rs 55000.", wrote the ex-Pakistan cricketer. It was a tough ladder to climb for Kapil Dev and team but they managed to defend 183 runs in final against two-time defending champions West Indies.

Indian cricketers after winning the 2011 World Cup had received around Rs. 2 crores from the BCCI to each player and then from their respective states associations.
