Unwell Trent Boult skips New Zealand's training camp at Bay Oval

He is likely to return to training on Tuesday.

Ace New Zealand speedster Trent Boult skipped the second day of six-day training camp which is scheduled to end on July 24 at Bay Oval on Monday (July 20) due to some exhaustion.

Boult was feeling unwell and he had to stay away as a precaution, though, veteran batsman Ross Taylor was hopeful that pacer would be fit to go on the third day of the camp.

As per ESPNcricinfo, Taylor said of Boult: “I think he's just tired from his eight overs bowling at us yesterday. Obviously, with what's going around, you've got to be a bit smart around things like that. Hopefully, he's fine and raring to go tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, New Zealand Cricket is currently having a camp for cricketer from the national men’s and women’s teams based in North Island amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Noteworthy, Taylor and Boult both are part of the 8 players’ team to attend the first half of the North camp, while the other six are – Colin de Grandhomme, Jeet Raval, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert, Tim Southee and Neil Wagner of New Zealand men’s team.

The second half is comprising of Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Kyle Jamieson, Jimmy Neesham, Will Somerville, and Will Young for the six-day camp in North Island.
