Mushfiqur Rahim and eight other Bangladesh players to resume training on July 19

The Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed the development and also the venues where players will train.

Mushfiqur Rahim | AFP Former captain Mushfiqur Rahim is among nine Bangladeshi cricketers who will resume individual training after COVID-19 hiatus across four venues from Sunday (July 19), the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed.

Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet and Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna are the four venues selected by the BCB for the first phase of training after the long break.

The board confirmed that all the necessary health protocols will be followed during the session.

"Players will take part in Running and GYM at Academy, Batting at Indoor Center. Other three venues will be available for Running and GYM only," reads the BCB's media statement.

Apart from Mushfiqur, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mithun, Shafiul Islam will also train in Dhaka, whereas Syed Khaled Ahmed and Nasum Ahmed will practice in Sylhet, Mehedi Hasan and Nurul Hasan in Khulna, with Nayeem Hasan being the only one to avail practice facility in Chattogram for now.

BCB did say all first-class and international venues are being prepared for cricket's return in the country. The national side, however, has already lost quite a few of its fixtures for the year due to the health risk amid the pandemic, especially in Test matches.

After the postponement of Bangladesh's Karachi visit to face Pakistan, the team saw Australia and New Zealand confirming their non-arrival for more fixtures in the World Test Championship, where the tour of Sri Lanka has also been affected.
