Kagiso Rabada and Chris Morris to miss the inaugural 3TCricket Solidarity Cup

South African international stars Kagiso Rabada and Chris Morris are all set to miss the inaugural 3TeamCricket Solidarity Cup to be played on Saturday (July 18) in Centurion – which will mark the resumption of live cricket in the country after COVID-19 forced hiatus.

Apart from star paceman Rabada, Sisanda Magala will also miss the exhibition 3TC match on July 18 due to the death of immediate family members of the two, while the reason for the all-rounder Morris’ unavailability for the fixture at the SuperSport Park is yet to be known.

Meanwhile, Thando Ntini, son of former pacer Makhaya Ntini, Bjorn Fortuin, and Gerald Coetzee have been named as the replacements for the respective players.

Heinrich Klaasen will captain the Kingfishers in Rabada's absence, while AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock will captain the two other eight-member teams in the 3TC competition.

Noteworthy, the Solidarity Cup will see 24 of South Africa's top cricketers featuring in three teams named – The Eagles, Kingfishers, and The Kites, playing two halves in a single match.

Kites: Quinton De Kock (captain), Temba Bavuma, Jon-Jon Smuts, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius, Lutho Sipamla, Beuran Hendricks, Anrich Nortje.

Kingfishers: Heinrich Klaasen (captain), Reeza Hendricks, Janneman Malan, Faf du Plessis, Thando Ntini, Gerald Coetzee, Glenton Stuurman, Tabraiz Shamsi.

Eagles: AB de Villiers (captain), Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen, Kyle Verreynne, Andile Phehlukwayo, Bjorn Fortuin, Junior Dala, Lungi Ngidi.
