India's former captain Kris Srikkanth made an opinion on the comparison between two of the most successful ex-India captains Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni.

It was difficult for Srikkanth to pick one above another as they both have made a contribution to Indian cricket. Srikkanth lauded Ganguly for his bold captaincy against Australia and recalled India's Test series win against the Aussies in 2001.

“It’s a very, very difficult comparison. In the 2001 series against Australia, I think Sourav Ganguly was fantastic. Coming back and beating Steve Waugh’s side," Kris Srikkanth said on Star Sports show 'Cricket Connected'.

However, seeing the bigger picture, Srikkanth rated Dhoni a better captain at home for the Indian Test team.

“But overall, who has had more impact in long home series? Definitely, I think MS Dhoni. Sourav had the benefit of having Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble while he was playing. Dhoni did not have that luxury. If you look at the home track record, definitely I think Dhoni was better," he stated.

Ganguly led India to 10 matches in overall 21 game at home, while the team won 21 matches under Dhoni out of 30 on Indian soil.
