Sourav Ganguly said BCCI is waiting for ICC's decision on T20 World Cup 2020 and the international cricket body would try their best to make it happen. The BCCI president also added that T20 World Cup has the same value for ICC as IPL has for BCCI.

"Just like you, I keep reading, We have had discussions in the ICC, there is no decision yet. I think the ICC is also trying its level best to host the World Cup because it is a huge revenue earner. And just like the IPL is to us, the World Cup is to ICC. From that point, I am sure they are trying every bit to host the World Cup. We will only have to wait for their decision," Ganguly told India Today's Consulting Editor on the latest episode of 'E-Inspiration'.

A call on IPL can only be taken after ICC makes a decision on T20 World Cup this year. There is a possibility of IPL happening in the October-November window if ICC decides to postpone the scheduled showpiece tournament in Australia.

Ganguly gave a green signal to India's tour of Australia at the end of the year. He confirmed team India will go to Australia and their quarantine period will be reduced.

"Yeah, we have confirmed the tour. In December, we will be coming. We just hope that the number of quarantine days gets reduced a bit because you don’t want the players to go all that far and sit in hotel rooms for 2 weeks. It can get very disappointing. We are looking at that.

"December is still a long way and as you said, Australia, New Zealand have been in good positions except for Melbourne. From that point of view, we will be going there, and hopefully, the quarantine days will be less and hopefully, we can get back to cricket," Ganguly stated.
