Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has rubbished Grant Flower's allegations that Younis Khan put a knife to his throat after he got a little critical of his batting during 2016 tour to Australia.

"I remember one incident in Brisbane, during the Test, at breakfast, I tried to give him a bit of batting advice ... But he didn't take kindly to my advice and brought a knife to my throat, with Mickey Arthur sitting alongside, who had to intervene," Flower had told 'Following On Cricket Podcast'.

Inzamam has played with Younis for a long time and he can't digest what Grant claimed in the podcast. He lambasted Flower and feels the former coach wants to be the talk of the town.

"I just can't believe what Grant has been saying. I played with Younis for a long time and I know him very well. Younis is someone who can never show a knife to anyone, " Inzamam told Dawn.

"I am surprised why Grant is speaking about it now. I think sometimes an individual wants to remain in the media limelight. Imagine such claims after more than three years have no value. Further, I never heard such an incident while I was the chief selector. To me, this statement has no value," the legendary Pakistani batsman added.
