Pietersen was surprised to see the strict response from Twitter on a casual tweet.

Kevin Pietersen's Twitter account was locked after violating the rules on the micro-blogging site. He was in a conversation with journalist Piers Morgan when his reply came under the 'violation of rules against abuse and harassment'.

Twitter has a very strict policy and it had once not even spared the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

Pietersen jokingly wrote “I slap you when I see you! That won’t be nonsense", which got his account locked. He took to Instagram and shared the news with his fans. He wrote, “What kind of world do we live in when you can’t even joke with a mate?!”

Morgan shared the screengrab on his Twitter account and asked Twitter to reconsider it. “Amusing though this is, it was an obvious joke and a) I don’t feel remotely harassed b) he can’t slap his way out of a paper bag,” he tweeted.

Later, the former England cricketer got his account restored and he let his fans know about it.
