Former Indian opener-turned commentator Aakash Chopra believes that Pakistan shouldn't have any reason to worry to travel to India for the ICC T20 World Cup next year.

Recently, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to get written assurances from the Indian cricket board (BCCI) that Pakistan team would face no security issues and problems in getting visas to play in the 2021 T20 World Cup and 2023 World Cup in India.

Reacting to the same, former batsman said Pakistan does not need to worry about security if they get the clearance to travel to India for the forthcoming ICC tournaments in the country.

Chopra said on Swera Pasha’s Youtube show Cricast: “Security will not be an issue for Pakistan whenever they come to India for the T20 World Cup, that is guaranteed. Security assurance will be provided to them.”

The commentator further added, “The BCCI is not reacting on this at the moment because there is no need to say anything right now because nobody knows what is going to happen in the near future due to the coronavirus crisis. Let there be some confirmation on the T20 World Cup first then all these concerns of safety and security can be addressed.”

He signed off by saying, “There is still a lot of time for the tournament to happen but whenever Pakistan comes to India, definitely assurance will be given. Security will be provided and the Pakistan team will be safe in India.”

Noteworthy, India and Pakistan last played a bilateral series back in 2013 and since then, both sides have only met in ICC events and the Asia Cup.
