England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) named a 30-member training group on Wednesday (June 17) for the upcoming three-match Test series against West Indies, with Moeen Ali making a comeback in whites for England after taking a break from the red-ball format in September last year.

Moeen had played the first Ashes Test against Australia and after a disappointing performance was left out for Jack Leach. He also missed out on a central contract for the longest format for the 2019/20 season.

England's group will be training together from June 23 at the Ageas Bowl, ahead of their First Test against West Indies on July 8. The players will take part in a three-day practice match from July 1-3 after which the final squad will be announced by ECB.

“Everyone involved with England is delighted that cricket is returning soon, and that the players are reporting for group training,” national selector Ed Smith said.

The First Test is scheduled to take place at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from July 8, with the last two matches to be held at Old Trafford in Manchester. All three matches will be played behind closed doors with no fans present at the venues.
