Amid the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, England all-rounder Chris Jordan is confident that upcoming England versus West Indies Test series starting next month would be watched by the whole world.
The paceman also believes that the much-awaited Test series can do for cricket what the German Bundesliga did to resume European club football following the COVID-19-forced hiatus.
The three-match Test series will mark the resumption of cricket after the Coronavirus enforced the shutdown of almost all cricketing activities since March across the world.
Well, Jordan has heaped praises on the West Indies cricket team for agreeing to come to the United Kingdom (UK) amid the health concerns, as well as, lauded the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for being able to pull off this historic series in such uncertain circumstances.
Jordan told Sky Sports on Tuesday (June 16): “Obviously those talks must have gone on for a few months and I guess the bottom line is that I'm just happy that agreement was reached and that they took the steps to even come here.”
The all-rounder further added, “A lot of guys might have had concerns and raised a lot of questions around coming to England but that's credit to the ECB and all of the medical staff at the ECB for obviously relaying the correct information and being very thorough and basically painting a vivid picture for them of what life would look like here for them.”

Meanwhile, the English star believes that the players' strong desire to return to the field trumped all their fears about playing amidst the COVID-19 crisis.
Jordan is also hoping for an exciting series considering the fact that the entire world would be watching the historic Test series, which will be played at the empty stadiums and at bi-secure venues in the UK.
He added, “I guess that all of the guys who came were willing to accept that in terms of having to isolate and probably being as not as free as they normally do when they come on English tours.”
Jordan signed off by saying, “But I guess just like everyone else they just want to get back out there and play cricket and they obviously saw it as an opportunity to do so and we must be very grateful for that and hopefully, both teams can put on a great show because I'm sure the whole world will be watching.”
Noteworthy, the much-anticipated series will get underway with the first Test on July 8 at the Ageas Bowl, followed by the second and third Test at Old Trafford on July 16 and July 24 respectively.
