Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner R Ashwin shared how he got noticed by MS Dhoni after getting into the franchise. It's hard to get into the eyes of Dhoni and Ashwin was aware of it. Interestingly, the CSK skipper didn't know much about the Tamil Nadu spinner.

Ashwin had to impress Dhoni and he did it quite well. The offie shared it in a chat with Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz.

“MS Dhoni did not know who Ashwin was. I had to catch the eye of MS Dhoni. So if I had caught the eyes of MS Dhoni, I had the best chance,” Ashwin said.

Ashwin is currently part of the Delhi Capitals franchise after getting transferred from Kings XI Punjab where he stayed for two seasons.

The 33-year-old had told the reason to move to Delhi in an interview with Mumbai Mirror. “There are other factors, the owners did feel I haven’t delivered which is true because I could not take the team through to the playoffs in both the seasons.

"You can give excuses why we could not do that, but I am someone who takes it under my chin and admits that ‘yes I couldn’t deliver.’ The trade was more initiated rather than my doing.”
