Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly has opened up on his current role as BCCI president. Ganguly took over as the president eight months back and he considers himself blessed.

Ganguly sees it as a chance to be helpful towards the players. “I am fortunate to be the president of BCCI. It’s another opportunity to work with players and try and influence the game from that position,” he said in a webinar.

Being part of the Indian cricket team for 15 years, Ganguly knows what a player needs and how they can fully focus on their game without the outer factors affecting them.

He is focused on making life easier for players. “I will always be a player’s person. I know their emotions.”

It was reported that Ganguly might replace Manohar as the next ICC chairman, but he refused to open up. “I keep it simple. I give my best in whatever I do. Knowingly (or otherwise) I have been pushed into different roles. My method is simple. I approach things, the way I know it best,” he said.

The 47-year-old is hopeful of Indian cricket's domination. He believes India will keep producing talented cricketers. “Indian cricket is in great hands. When Gavaskar finished, we had Tendulkar, Dravid, now Kohli has come. India will always produce champion players.

"It’s like football in Brazil. You never know, where talent comes from. It’s the passion boys and girls have here. We will always be a strong cricket country and continue to dominate.”
