Harbhajan Singh wants to buy agricultural land and grow food grains to help poor people

Harbhajan shared his plan to reach out to needy people affected in pandemic.

Veteran India cricketer Harbhajan Singh wants to help poor people and he shared his plan for the same in Salaam Cricket. His heart goes out for the needy ones who couldn't get a meal twice a day in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Harbhajan said helping each other is the right way to go forward in tough times. “I would like to thank the Covid-19 pandemic to make me realize that I can help others. It has awakened my humanity. So I have planned to buy some agricultural land to grow food grains for the poor in our society,” he said.

Earlier, in interaction with R Ashwin during an Instagram Live, Harbhajan said the food will go to temples. 

“The food will go to temples, to the needy people and that is what will give me more satisfaction rather than just running around and making money. That’s not the only thing that we are here for. Helping each other is the key, going forward. I have learned that being simple and receiving love from your family is the most important thing,” he said. 

Suresh Raina was also present in the Aaj Tak's Salaam Cricket, and he pointed out that he lockdown has given players time to recover from injuries. 

Raina also talked about his contribution to the people in need during the pandemic. He had contributed 52 lakh for the fight against COVID-19.

“As an Indian, I thought to help my countrymen with whatever I could. When we won the 2011 World Cup, it was the people who prayed for us. So it is our time to give them back.”, he said.
