The 20-year-old rising star batsman Shubman Gill was once provoked by Hardik Pandya in a 50-over domestic match. Pandya, who plays for Baroda, sledged the Punjab youngster and said things won't be easy for him here this isn't Under-19 cricket.

Talking to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gill revealed Pandya didn't stop and he kept on going against him without any specific reason.

"It was my year of Ranji Trophy season and we were playing a one-day against Baroda and I remember Hardik bowling to me and he kept on sledging me, I don't know for what reason," Gill said.

Shubman believes the banter started after he tried to hit Hardik's delivery on up. "Actually he was bowling to me and I tried to hit him on the up and the ball went straight to the fielder and then he kept on sledging me and saying "Ae chal na maar na! Chal na ye 19 nahi hai ye. Chal na maar na (C'mon hit me, this is not Under-19 cricket, hit me)," he added.

Gill, who made his debut for team India in 2019 against New Zealand, is part of the Punjab cricket team since 2017. He also bagged an IPL contract with KKR in 2018.
