Pakistan veteran wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal has opened up on MS Dhoni's future. He is backing the 38-year-old to be in the T20 World Cup and enter the fray for wicket-keeper's role in the Indian team.

India is currently backing KL Rahul for the wicket-keeper's role, but Akmal still thinks Dhoni should be the first choice wicket-keeper.

Kamran said, "I think it should be MS Dhoni", when asked about first preference for the T20 World Cup. He added, "And the second option is KL Rahul".

Currently, Dhoni is not even second option of the team after Rahul replaced Rishabh Pant, who was seen as the potential successor of the former India captian behind the stumps.

There is still doubt on whether the T20 World Cup will be played this year or not, and with no IPL in April, even Dhoni's chances for the major ICC tournament are not clear.
