"He's always energetic like a lion"; Shreyas Iyer lauds Virat Kohli for his untiring attitude

India’s star middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has heaped praise on his captain Virat Kohli for his highly energetic and never-tiring attitude on the cricket field as well as his passion for the game, comparing the right-hander’s energy levels to that of a lion.

It is well documented to everyone that Kohli wears his heart on his sleeve while his passion, sparkling aggressive, and restless personality not only keeps the counterpart at his toes but also gets everyone energetic in the team with his super energetic presence on the cricket field.

Kohli, who is also one of the fittest sports personalities in the world today, has been leading the batting chart over the years but his incredible hunger for runs and wins for India remains the same and Iyer lauded him for the attitude he carries on the field each and every time he steps out for India.

Virat Kohli and Shreyas IyerDuring a live Instagram chat with Delhi Capitals on Instagram, DC captain Shreyas has complimented Kohli’s body language, saying the Indian captain who never gets tired and always remains energetic like a lion is a role model for all the youngsters in many ways.

Shreyas said during the conversation with the IPL team DC: “Virat Kohli is a role model for all the youngsters in the team. The hunger he shows is great, he is like always playing like his first match. He is like a lion, his energy never goes down.”

 

He further added, “At any time when he goes out on the sphere it feels as if he’s enjoying his first recreation. He’s by no means drained, at all times energetic like a lion. You see a distinct physique language when he enters the bottom, one thing nice to be taught from him,”

The DC captain has also lauded Kohli the way he is handling the Indian team, saying it is a phenomenal feeling when the captain compliments his teammates.

The Mumbai batter further added, “It's really a phenomenal feeling when he talks or compliments his teammates. He's a role model for all the youngsters out there.”

Iyer also believes that he has cemented his spot as the no.4 batsman in white-ball cricket for India after displaying staggering performances having most recently scored 217 runs in New Zealand – the most number of runs scored by a number four Indian batsman in the three-match bilateral series.

He signed off by saying, “If you have been playing for India at that position for a year now, that means you have sealed it. There should be no more questions asked about it.”
