Kane Williamson, Dinesh Karthik reveal their admiration for MS Dhoni’s calm demeanour

Dhoni is known for his calm attitude on the field, regardless of the situation.

MS Dhoni | AFPAll forms of international and domestic cricket have been suspended since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe.

Amid the crisis, star players are keeping themselves occupied with different activities. While some are engaging with fans on social media, a few are featuring on cricket-related shows to express their views.

Recently, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson appeared on Star Sports' Cricket Connected show and opened up about various topics, including former India captain MS Dhoni’s calm demeanour.

"You might finish a series and try and have a quick chat and find the secret, but he (MS Dhoni) seems to take it in his stride and appreciates the game," Williamson said during the chat.

"He (Dhoni) seems to remember what is important and not get too caught up with some of those things that may be distracting, very focused on what's important," he added.

Williamson also hailed Dhoni as a "very special individual".

India’s veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik was also part of the show and he shared his experience of knowing Dhoni over the years.

"In 2003 or 2004 when I went for my first (India) A tour with him, he was pretty much an easy-going, chill, relaxed character that's what you see as well. The only difference you see is a lot more white hair now, but inside, he's pretty calm," Karthik said.

"I haven't seen him angry that often or I haven't seen him express his anger explicitly outside too often. So, he's been pretty much the same," he further added.

It has been almost a year since MS Dhoni last played any form of competitive cricket. The World Cup 2019 semi-final against New Zealand at Old Trafford was his last appearance in Team India colours.

In a bid to stake claim for a place in the national squad for T20 World Cup, Dhoni was set to lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the 13th edition of Indian Premier League but the Coronavirus outbreak forced the BCCI to suspend the cash-rich event indefinitely.
