Ex-Pakistan cricketer Abdul Razzaq had recently accused India of deliberately losing against England in the World Cup 2019 to virtuall knock Pakistan out of the tournament. India's loss in the league stage made things extremely tough for Pakistan and eventually, they were eliminated before knockout stages.

Fingers were pointed at India's approach in the chase as MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav didn't get quick runs in the last five overs of the innings. They were focusing more on singles rather than sixes and fours even when the asking rate was over 10.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes, who was also part of the match, had also questioned Team India's plan in the chase in his book. But Razzaq took things little too far and alleged India of dirty politics. 

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has now slammed former Pakistan cricketers for their comments. In his latest Youtube video, he said, “I am wearing a T-shirt which says Sharam (shame) not found. Think a little and have some shame. Waqar Younis, despite being the brand ambassador for the ICC, gave a statement during the World Cup that India threw the match away on purpose. I mean seriously,” said Chopra.

“It is understandable if the partnership between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma didn’t make sense to Stokes or if he was confused by Dhoni’s approach towards the end. But he never said that India deliberately lost the match.”

Chopra was very upset with the comments made by ex-cricketers. “Former Pakistani cricketers are openly saying that India lost deliberately and ICC should fine them. How can you think like that? It was more important for India to top the group at that time. India only lost one game in the group stages and that happened to be that game against England,” he added.
