The famous shirt-swirling celebration of legendary Indian captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly at the iconic Lord's balcony after India won the Natwest Series in 2002 against England at their own backyard is still one of the best moments in the history of Indian cricket.

The celebration by Ganguly, who is widely regarded as one of India's most successful captains, is still etched in the memory of Indian cricket fans and even the picture somehow manages to grab the attention every time and yet again highlighted by the legendary batsman VVS Laxman.

It was one of the defining moments of Ganguly’s illustrious career and Laxman picked that iconic picture to pay tribute to legendary cricket by saying the former India captain was "unconventional and fiercely proud" and always wore his heart on his sleeve.

Recently, Laxman had showered gratitude to the legends of the game Anil Kumble and Sachin Tendulkar for taking Indian cricket to greater heights on Twitter and now he has shown his respect to Ganguly who is known to shape the future of Indian cricket on the micro-blogging site.

Taking to Twitter on June 2, Laxman has shared the memorable picture by saying: “Unconventional and fiercely proud, @SGanguly99 wore his heart on his sleeve. And, sometimes, bared it too! Empowering youngsters who went on to do wonders for the country was a credit to his great leadership qualities.”

Noteworthy, the legendary batsman has recently revealed that he would be paying tribute to some of the cricketers he's played alongside and who've had an influence on him and his career.
