Manoj Tiwary feels insulted as KKR didn’t tag him in their 2012 IPL victory post

KKR won its first IPL trophy in 2012 under captaincy of Gautam Gambhir.

The Kolkata Knight Riders team went for a turnaround when it came to their squad and leadership in IPL 2011 auction and the Shah Rukh Khan owned franchise chose to give reins to Gautam Gambhir and things changed for good.

The KKR team that was one of the most liked but were without the silverware since 2008 and this changed in 2012 IPL, when they won their maiden league title. To top it all, they defeated two-time defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the final in what was a very good match.

The team led by Gautam Gambhir was one of the best KKR units featuring the likes of Brendon McCullum, Jacques Kallis, Yusuf Pathan, Manoj Tiwary, Sunil Narine, and Brett Lee.

The final played in the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, saw half-centuries from Mike Hussey and Suresh Raina as CSK chose to bat first and put on 190/3 in their 20 overs.

However, former KKR player Manoj Tiwary, who had a good 2012 season where he scored 260 runs in 16 matches with one fifty, batting lower down the order, felt insulted that he was not tagged by the KKR franchise in this nostalgia tweet along with the likes of Gambhir, McCullum, Narine, and Lee. He mentioned that he also had many memories and emotions that will remain with him forever.

In the end, he felt disappointed with the treatment, which he felt was insulting and also mentioned that Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladeshi all-rounder, who played a big part in KKR’s success, was also not tagged in the post along with him. He mentioned that this tweet will be close to every KKR fan’s heart and used the hashtag ‘disappointed’.
