Ravi Shastri urges people to help the cricket community during COVID-19 lockdown

He appealed all to donate for retired cricketers, groundsmen, and other staff in Mumbai.

The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has caused a lot of challenges across the world apart from serious challenges on the economic front and killing hundreds of lives globally.

Apart from battling for life against this deadly COVID-19 disease, peoples have been finding it even more difficult than saving a life from the fast-spreading virus to make ends meet in the lockdown.

The poor were hit hardest by this global crisis and things are not much different for those who are involved in Cricket at different and small areas behind the scene.

With all the cricketing actions suspended due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 across the world, the retired cricketers, umpires, ground staff, and other staff are finding it really difficult to survive in this challenging time in India, like other countries.

Taking to Twitter on May 23, Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has urged people to come forward and help the needy in this difficult time during the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown.

Former India captain has shared a tweet of a journalist, who has formed the Trust Cricketers Foundation for the welfare of former cricketers, umpires, and ground staff of Mumbai.

Shastri wrote on Twitter: “Guys, let’s come together and help our cricket community. These are testing times and a little empathy will be great.”
