Former Pakistan opener Taufeeq Umar has been tested positive of being infected by COVID-19.
The left-hand batsman, who played 44 Tests and 22 ODIs for Pakistan, experienced fever on Sunday (May 24) and without taking any risk in these times, went for a medical test, where he was declared COVID-19 positive.

Umar became only the fourth reputed cricketer to be affected by Coronavirus after Majid Haq (Scotland), Zafar Sarfaraz (Pakistan) and Solo Nqweni (South Africa).
"I got myself tested last night after feeling a little sick last night, and the result came positive," Umar told Geo News.
My symptoms are not at all severe. I have isolated myself at home."
"I appeal to everyone to pray for my swift recovery."
With the symptoms "not at all severe", it is hoped that relatively young Umar will be able to recover soon.
The 38-year-old scored 2,963 runs in Tests and 504 runs in ODIs for his country.
Umar last represented Pakistan at the highest level in 2014.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an unprecedented health crisis around the world.
More than 51 lakh people have been globally infected, including over 3.3 lakh deaths.
The contagious nature of the deadly virus has resulted in an indefinite suspension of all sporting activities.
