Last week, PCB confirmed that Pakistan will visit England in July to play three Tests and three T20 internationals in a bio-secure environment.

And now it is learnt that Pakistan’s multiple squad, which is yet to be announced, will remain in bio-secure conditions for up to three months, starting from their resumption of training in Lahore early next month to the end of England tour in August.

According to an ESPNcricinfo report, a group of cricketers comprising both Test and white-ball specialists will resume training in Lahore’s National Cricket Academy from the first week of June before moving to the Gaddafi Stadium next door.

The facilities of training, lodging and catering will be made available at NCA and the Gaddafi Stadium.

During the discussions held via video link with the ECB officials, it was agreed that Pakistan would play the matches behind closed doors in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

PCB CEO Wasim Khan said the health and safety of players are paramount and no one would be forced to go to England.

“It seems the Pakistan cricket team will have to remain under a strict bio-secure environment for up to three months,” Wasim Khan said in a PCB statement. ”Players will be given an option to withdraw if they are still not satisfied with the provisions that will be put in place; full details will be provided in the coming weeks.”

Even though PCB has agreed to tour England, the series can only take place if the United Kingdom government eases the restrictions imposed since lockdown in late March.

The deadly outbreak has claimed over 35,000 lives in UK while more than 2,45,000 cases have been reported so far.
