Adopting even 30 percent of what Virat Kohli did is enough to get success: Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal said the Indian captain doesn’t believe in individual glory and his best quality is to take everyone along.

Virat Kohli and Yuzvendra Chahal | GettyVirat Kohli has been on a record-breaking spree with the bat in the last few years. The 31-year-old has already amassed 21,000+ runs and 70 centuries in international cricket.

But as per leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian captain doesn’t believe in individual glory and his best quality is to take everyone along.

Speaking on Star Sports' show Cricket Connected, Chahal revealed the most important lesson he has learned from Kohli.

"I have been playing with him for around 6 years now since our RCB days. One thing I have learned is that he is a down to earth person. No matter how much fame he has got, he will take everyone with him -- whether it's personal or on field; that I have learned from him," he said.

Virat’s physical transformation has grabbed many eyeballs in the last five years or so. In fact, several members of the Indian cricket team even got inspired by his fitness regime and consequently started training with discipline.

Kohli, who is the only batsman to average above 50 across three formats, has often attributed his success with the willow to his intense fitness regime. However, in order to attain supreme fitness levels, he has had to make some serious changes to his eating habits and lifestyle.

Talking about Kohli’s fitness, Chahal said adopting even 30 percent of what the captain does would be more than enough to be a successful cricketer.

"I know that he's a gym freak and how he has changed his body – I want to learn that from him. I have seen him since he was 18-19- the transformation after 2012 or 2013, if anyone adopts even 30 percent of what Virat did, it's more than enough," he remarked.
