Pakistan speedster Hasan Ali is set for another setback after being dropped from the list of central contracts announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday, May 13, as the fast-bowler is most likely to be ruled out for another six months due to a back injury.
It is being said that Hasan has been battling injury problems since the 2019 World Cup and he is now suffering from back pain after he managed to feature in nine games for the Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.

He has missed a lot of cricket last year due to ankle and groin problems and fractured ribs and now a back injury might require surgery abroad.
At the moment, the PCB is closely monitoring Ali’s injury and a source has revealed that the Pakistan board is ready to send the pacer to Australia or any other country if the experts advised him to undergo surgery for his back problem, which is one of the problems that saw him out of national contracts.

The source said of Hasan: “He has developed a back problem since late April and the PCB has sent his medical reports to medical experts in Australia and some other countries for advice. There are two options available for Hasan, either he undergoes a long-term therapy treatment or has surgery but everything will depend on the advice by the foreign experts.”
Hasan played an integral role in Pakistan’s historic Champions Trophy victory in 2017. He has represented Pakistan in nine Tests, 53 ODIs, and 30 ODIs so far and has snared 31, 82, and 35 scalps respectively.
