Virat Kohli, Indian cricket captain and one of the greatest batsmen of the modern-day cricket, plays each and every game at the high and similar intensity and the way he carries out his business on the field shows how seriously the run-machine takes his game.
Over the years in his already illustrious cricket career, the dashing right-hander has put in a lot of hard work and that reflects in his game and one thing is clear that he is devoted to hard work and believes in doing everything in life with seriousness and commitment.

Last Sunday (May 10), speaking with students and aspiring cricketers on Star Sports’ show Cricket Connected, the 30-year-old has recalled his childhood days even when he never compromised on his homework during vacation despite giving a lot of time to cricket.
On the show, Kohli advised kids to give equal importance to studies and sports, while recalling how he would get stressed when his homework had been pending after the vacation holidays.
Kohli said on Star Sports' show 'Cricket Connected': “I used to play cricket 90 percent of the time during my summer vacation, while I used to give 10 percent for other sports like badminton, football, and basketball. Apart from watching cartoons, I used to complete my holiday homework every day.”

The cricket captain further added, “To do homework daily was quite necessary because on a couple of occasions I had experienced that my homework was pending during entire vacations and had to do it at the end vacations. This creates a lot of stress.”
On his routine in school, Kohli said: “When I was 12, I used to play from January to December. After my school, I used to go straight to my academy. Then, I'd head home and complete my homework. This was my routine. We used to not have matches during exams, but whenever I got a chance, I used to make sure I head towards practice.”
The skipper also recalled those days when he used to eagerly wait for the summer vacations, saying the first day of the vacation was always special to him.
He signed off by saying, “The last day of school, when you know the vacation has begun, I used to come home, throw the bag around, have a good bath and lie on the cold floor. You feel the load of going to school for so many days is being released now. I will never forget the feeling of the first day of vacation.”
