Indian pacer Navdeep Saini, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL, had surprised one of the most fearsome T20 batsman Andre Russell in an encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Saini, in a chat with Sports Tak on Instagram Live, talked about the match when Russell went to RCB skipper Virat Kohli and lauded the youngster's pace.

"There was a match in Kolkata between RCB and Knight Riders when I had bowled to Russell. I had bowled really well. After that Russell told Virat paaji: "Dikhne mein to patla sa ladka hai par ladka data bahut tez hai (He looks thin but the lad bowls very fast)". When Virat paaji told me later I was quite happy. When a foreign player talks about you in this way, it feels really great," said Saini.

Saini spoke on RCB's poor performance in the past. Sometimes they have performed well but it turned out to be not enough to bring the first trophy in the cabinet.

"Yes, I also feel the same. Before I played for them I was surprised by it. But after I played for RCB realized that all the team players, even those sitting outside, realize that the effort is the most important. Everyone is giving their 110 percent effort even though results might not show it," said Saini on RCB's misfortune in IPL.

Indian pace attack has got better with the time, and they are called the best bunch the country has ever got. Saini believes they are the best in the world currently.

He also admitted of learning from his senior pacers like Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah taught the youngster to trust his strength.
