Sachin Tendulkar provides help to 4,000 underprivileged people amid COVID-19 lockdown

The NGO thanked Sachin Tendulkar for the generous donation to help the needy during the lockdown.

Sachin Tendulkar continues to help India in the battle against the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as the cricket icon has yet again come out with the financial aid to help out the underprivileged people amid the ongoing nation-wide lockdown.

Tendulkar has donated an undisclosed amount to the Hi5 Foundation, a non-profit organization based out of Mumbai to financially help 4,000 underprivileged people, including children from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

The Foundation that “aims to revolutionize the state of basketball in India from the grassroots level” has announced the same on Twitter while thanking the batting legend Tendulkar for his contribution.

The Hi5 wrote: “Thanks @sachin_rt for proving once again that #sports encourage compassion! Your generous donation towards our #COVID19 fund enables us to financially aid 4000 underprivileged people, including children from @mybmc schools. Our budding sportspersons thank you, Little Master!”

Meanwhile, former Indian great extended his wishes to the team of the organization for their efforts in helping the needy in this challenging time. Tendulkar wrote on Twitter: “Best wishes to team Hi5 for your efforts in supporting families of daily wage earners,”

Noteworthy, Tendulkar had earlier contributed Rs 25 lakh each to Prime Minister's Relief Fund and Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the country's fight against COVID-19, as well as, pledged to bear the cost of feeding 5,000 people for a month in a couple of areas in Mumbai.
