On Monday (May 4), the ex-Pakistan pacer said he is open to the idea of becoming Team India’s bowling coach if an offer comes his way in the future.

"I will definitely. My job is to spread knowledge. What I have learned is (ilm) knowledge and I will spread it. I will produce more aggressive, fast and more talkative bowlers than the current ones who will tell-off the batsmen in a way that you will enjoy a lot," Shoaib said in his latest interview on social networking app 'Helo'.

The Rawalpindi Express also expressed his desire to coach IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. Notably, Akhtar had played for KKR in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar also recalled his duel with batting legend Sachin Tendulkar during Pakistan's tour of India in 1999.

The fast bowler said he got to know about Tendulkar’s popularity in that tour and how Indian crowds enjoyed his performance.

"I had seen him but didn't know how big a name he was in India. In Chennai, I got to know that he was known as a god in India. Mind you, he is a very good friend of mine. In 1999, when I bowled as fast as I could, Indian public celebrated with me. I have a big fan following in India," Akhtar stated.
