Tamim said, “I think you (Mahmudullah) deserve to be called up for the IPL. I always feel it. Especially the way you’ve been batting in T20 cricket for the last 3-4 years … I think it’s unfortunate that you haven’t been called up for the IPL yet.”

Responding to the same, Mahmudullah insisted that he is not disappointed that he hasn’t yet got an IPL opportunity despite wishing to play in the high-profile T20 tournament. However, he hopes to get an IPL chance in the future.

He signed off by saying, “Everyone wants to play in a tournament like IPL. This is how this tournament is. Great, glamorous. The best T20 league in the world. It would have been nice to play. Everyone wants to see themselves in the best tournament. Because of this, there is no benefit in being upset. Hopefully, there will be opportunities in the future.”
