England’s Jason Roy wants to get back on track when it comes to getting back into the Test team. He has appeared in five Test matches averaging 18.7.

I worked very hard to crack the nut in Test cricket and for it to get taken away that quickly was really heartbreaking. I’m going to be trying my hardest to get back into the side,” he said to BBC Sport.

Roy is an important member of the England limited-overs set up with 3434 runs in 87 ODIs and 860 runs in 35 T20I matches. He has 9 centuries in ODIs to his name with the highest score being 180.

Scoring the weight of runs in white-ball cricket and then not being able to do that in Test cricket was upsetting for me because I really felt like I could. I still feel like I can, but I need to fight for my position again, get back in there, and prove to myself that I can actually do it. I definitely have the hunger to play,” Roy said.
