Mohammad Yousuf was probably one of the best batsmen to come from Pakistan and still holds the record for most runs in Tests in one calendar year, 1788 in 2006. He was part of an era when the cricket world was filled with one great batsman after another.
You name it and they played in the 1990s and 2000s. Be it India’s Sachin Tendulkar, West Indian Brian Lara, South Africa’s Jacques Kallis, Australian Ricky Ponting, or Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara. All of them had a lengthy career and made bucket loads of runs for their teams in Test format.

All of them have made more than 10,000 runs in Test matches and during a Twitter Q&A, Mohammad Yousuf was asked by a fan to rank these batting giants.
Though a difficult task, Yousuf ranked Tendulkar as No.1, Lara second, Ponting third followed by Kallis and Sangakkara at No.4 and 5.
Sachin Tendulkar still holds the record for most runs in ODIs – 18426 in 463 matches and in also in Tests – 15921 runs in 200 matches. He is also the only cricketer to score 100 international centuries – 51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs.
Yousuf also named Sachin Tendulkar, along with Brian Lara as his favorite batsmen in the world.
