During the recent, Instagram Live discussion, Vihari was asked to pick his favorite among Indian cricket’s fab four of batting – Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and VVS Laxman.

Well, Vihari, who made India debut in 2018 in England, was clear with his choice as the Andhra Pradesh captain, who is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler, named cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as his favorite cricketers among the fab four without any hesitation.

During the recent Instagram live session with Sportskeeda, Vihari said: “Sachin Tendulkar will always be my favorite (among the Fab 4). He was my role model while growing up like many other youngsters. But all four had great qualities and were unique in their own ability. So, it was great watching them together in that era. But Sachin sir was always my favorite.”

Ever since he made India debut and score a fifty on his debut against England, Vihari earned praises from one and all including Tendulkar and since then he became a regular member of the Test team.

So far in his career, he has scored 552 runs from nine Test matches at an average of 36.8, including one century and four half-centuries as well as has taken five wickets with his part-time off-spin.

England Test great Sir Alastair Cook was his maiden Test wicket and it was a special wicket for the Indian batsman as the former captain was batting for the last time.

Vihari signed off by saying, “It was surreal, Cook’s last test innings. To get him out in his last Test innings was special because it will be remembered in the history of the game.”
