With no cricketing action going on these days due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, all players are spending time with their family at home and interacting with their fans on social media.

India is one of those countries which has imposed complete lockdown to fight the ongoing COVID-19 crisis with the Asian country being under lockdown for more than a month now.

On Wednesday (April 29), Yousuf Pathan conducted an Instagram video session where he revealed some of the interesting anecdotes from his personal life and his cricketing career.

He has played with the number of legendary cricketers in his career over the years and was also part of India’s T20 World Cup 2007 and 50-over World Cup 2011 triumph. He has also won the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy thrice – with the Rajasthan Royals (once) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (twice).

During the Instagram Live session with CricTracker, the veteran all-rounder hailed former Australian spinner and former RR captain Shane Warne's on-field presence and leadership skills – which played a crucial role in the franchise's success in IPL 2008 – when they won only IPL title.

Pathan said of Warne, “I played for three years under Shane Warne in IPL. There are many memories with him. He used to guide us on how to dismiss batsmen well before the game and we used to implement them and batsmen used to get out in a similar fashion.”

The Baroda cricketer said he was unfortunate that he couldn't play with Warne beyond the third IPL edition as he was later snapped by KKR in the auction.

The all-rounder continued, “Unfortunately, I couldn't play for more than three years under him. Without any big players, he took our team to the final and won the title in the inaugural edition, there were many domestic players and less international stars during that time in RR. Only a captain like him can win the title with a few resources around.”

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s captaincy style and smartness made every one of his fan and Yusuf is no different from others, and during the live session, he was also asked to define the legendary captain in one word, the all-rounder has come up with a world “Clever.”

He has also picked Warne as one of his favorite captains in the IPL while calling former all-rounder and former teammate Yuvraj Singh a rockstar on Instagram.

Pathan was also asked to comment on Sachin Tendulkar, and he simply termed him as the God of Cricket. He signed off by saying, “What can I say about him? There is a lot that I can say. About him now I will just say, ‘God of Cricket’.”
