Irfan Pathan pays tribute to Irrfan Khan; reveals his connection to the Bollywood legend

Irrfan Khan died on Wednesday after his mother Saeda Begum's demise last Saturday.

Irrfan Khan, one of Indian cinema's finest and versatile actors, breathed his last in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Wednesday (April 29). He was 53 was admitted to the hospital due to a colon infection.

Apart from being one of Bollywood’s most celebrated and loved actors, who has also gained success in Hollywood as well, Khan was also known for modesty and integrity among the fans.

The sad news sent India into mourning, as condolences from actors, fans, and politicians across the world poured in for Irrfan and his family on social media.

The Indian cricket fraternity has also been expressing their sadness at Irrfan’s demise as well as hailing the actor for his exceptional contribution to the Indian cinema with the likes of Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Sachin Tendulkar, and Anil Kumble among others paying tribute to the English Medium actor.

Like many others including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has also paid tribute to Irrfan as well as expressed his sadness over the unfortunate demise.

He also revealed a unique connection with the actor even without meeting him, recalling how many used to tag him mistakenly while praising Irrfan for his wonderful work in the Indian cinema.

Taking to Twitter, Pathan wrote: “Ppl used to tag me regularly instead of #irffankhan for his outstanding work in the Indian cinema. That is sort of my connection with him even without meeting him. Saddened by his death”
