Yuzvendra Chahal reveals Rohit Sharma's new nickname; explains reason behind it

India's opening batsman and vice-captain of the limited-overs set-up, Rohit Sharma, and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal's great rapport with each other is well known to everyone, thanks to their hilarious conversations on the social media platforms.

Rohit and Chahal, who have been key members of the Indian Cricket Team over the past few years now, have often shown their brotherhood to fans with the two involved in some humorous chats on the internet and even seen exchanging some hilarious conversations on ‘Chahal TV’.

Even recently, the 33-year-old compared Chahal, who is known for his funny and hilarious stuff on his social media, to a funny Bollywood character and laughed off his antics during the Instagram Live session with Jasprit Bumrah.

Recently, Chahal had an interactive session with Cricbuzz, where the wrist-spinner has made an interesting and funny revelation about his India teammate.

Well, the flamboyant Mumbaikar hitter is generally known by the nickname of “Ro-Hit” or “Hitman” owing to his stupendous batting prowess, but the leggie has now introduced Rohit with another name.

During a chat session, the 29-year-old Chahal addressed the right-hander as “Rohita” revealing that he took it from one of his senior Indian teammates.

Chahal said on Cricbuzz, “Ek hain senior cricketer, inhone Rohit Sharma ka naam likha tha a[ne phone pe ‘Rohita Sharma’. Toh wahan se phir jo unhone bataya, phir main tabse……..(There is one senior cricketer who had saved Rohit Sharma’s name in his phonebook as ‘Rohita’. So, when he revealed the same to me since then I’ve been calling him as Rohita).”

Noteworthy, Chahal has represented India in 52 ODIs and 42 T20Is and has taken 91 and 55 wickets respectively so far.
