Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 47th birthday on 24 April (Friday) and wishes poured in for the Indian batting great from every nook and corner of the world on the special occasion.
However, Tendulkar, who ruled the 22-yard cricket pitch and became an emotion for his Indian fans, decided to not celebrate his birthday this year as a mark of respect to the frontline warriors in the fight against the ongoing global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Well, Tendulkar, who is regarded as the ‘God of Cricket’ by fans, has given the glimpse of how he started his special day home, saying he first took blessings from his mother and then shared a picture of Lord Ganesh that she had once gifted to him on social media.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, the master blaster has shared a picture of himself seeking blessings of his mother and he wrote, “Started my day by taking blessings from my Mother. Sharing a photo of Ganpati Bappa that she gifted me. Absolutely priceless.”

Noteworthy, the legendary cricket had revealed that he won't be celebrating his birthday, as he felt that’s the best way to pay tribute to the COVID-19 warriors.
He told Sportstar, “I won’t be celebrating my birthday this year. Given the circumstances, I don’t think it’s the right time to celebrate anything. Every time the government wanted us to explain its directives, we have done that as well. I have been in talks with some of our business partners to spread the message about the prevailing situation to those in their organizations.

Also, for the first time, I have been able to work with the medical fraternity. I spent around 45 minutes talking to them about my experiences.”
Tendulkar, who retired from the game in 2013, had donated Rs 50 lakh for the fight against the pandemic in the country as well as a month's ration for 5,000 Mumbaikars.
