Pakistan’s young pace sensation Shaheen Afridi has emerged as one of the brightest prospects and one of the key bowlers for the side across all the formats since making an international debut in 2018.

Afridi is just 20-year-old but he has taken the responsibility to lead the fast bowling attack of the team on his shoulders, as the young gun has already played 8 Tests (30 wickets), 19 ODIs (40 wickets) and 12 T20Is (20 wickets) for Pakistan so far.

Recently, in a live Twitter session conducted by Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars, Afridi has named Pakistan’s pace legend Wasim Akram and Australia’s left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc as his favorite bowlers, who he follows closely and even tries to learn things from.

The 20-year-old seamer further revealed that he wants to learn to swing the ball like Starc.

Afridi said in his Twitter interaction with Lahore Qalandars, “I try to learn a few good things from Wasim Akram and Mitchell Starc, and in particular want to learn Starc’s way to swing,”

The Qalandars pacer also revealed his disappointment at being failed to dismissed Babar Azam in the fifth edition of the PSL 2020 which was suspended at the final due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He further added, “Despite dismissing many major players in the PSL I could not get Babar. He did not give me any opportunity but it is one of my wishes to take his wicket.”

Shaheen also thanked his teammates for supporting him during his injury period. He signed off by saying, “I still played for them despite the injury and they supported me a lot. I got to learn a lot from foreign players such as Chris Lynn, Ben Dunk, and Samit Patel.”
