The BCB has appointed Omar as manager in the last two series of Bangladesh women’s team. And in this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup down under, it is alleged that he passed on team information, which is considered a violation of ICC’s anti-corruption protocol.

“Yes we’ve been informed by the ICC to not include him in any future event. To be honest, it is quite disappointing,” a top BCB official told Cricbuzz on conditions of anonymity.

It is understood that Omar's movements were under steady investigation by the ICC officials and after gathering enough evidence against him, the parent body urged the BCB to exclude him.

In his international cricket career, Javed Omar represented Bangladesh in 40 Tests and 59 ODIs from 1995 to 2007. While he scored 1720 runs in red-ball cricket, he amassed 1312 runs in the 50-over format.
