Everyone still remembers how Andrew Flintoff enraged Yuvraj Singh when India took on England in an important match of the inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2007.

It was a must-win match for both teams and Yuvraj had just come into bat after a big partnership between Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir had given India an edge. Flintoff said something to Yuvraj, which he reciprocated and then took out his anger on poor Stuart Broad, who was hit for six sixes in six balls.

This was the first instance of such a feat happening in T20 cricket and helped Yuvraj set the world record of scoring a fifty in just 12 balls. It is still the fastest fifty in international cricket and now Yuvraj has revealed that everyone questioned his bat after he hit six sixes.

He said how Australia’s Adam Gilchrist doubted his bat after he creamed 70 runs in just 30 balls against them in the semi-finals. “The Australian coach at that came to me and had asked if there was a fiber behind my behind and asked if it was legal. Has the match referee checked it? So I told him to get it checked. Even Gilchrist asked me like who used to make our bats,” Yuvraj told Sports Tak.

So match referee had also checked my bat. But honestly, that bat was very special for me. I have never played with a bat like that. That one and the 2011 World Cup bat, there were special,” he adds.

India went onto win the tournament by beating arch-rivals Pakistan in the finals at the Johannesburg.
